Tamagoyaki pans rock.
Bento that I made shortly after buying my "Love me little. Love me long." and Putifresh bento boxes (check my previous post. ^_^)

Consists of:
- rice with furikake and naruto slice, and shredded kani with a dollop of mayonaise
- tamagoyaki on a bed of greens, and a mushroom/mixed-veggies/cut-up naruto stir-fry (that's a lot of hyphens there...)
- dessert box with banana slices and flower marshmallows.

As the subject of the post suggests, it just finally occured to me to get a tamagoyaki pan, so I picked one up from the 88-peso/100-yen store near our house to try it out. I like it so much since, not only is my fried egg pretty (yes, I'm shallow), I can use it on other small stuff, too, like hotdogs or whatever. Really convenient especially if I'm just cooking for myself since I don't have to lug out the heavier iron pan that I usually use just to cook a small amount of food.

Since I've tested it out on a cheaper (thinner, flimsier) pan, I'm now convinced and I plan to invest in one of those higher-quality tamagoyaki pans which are more expensive, but with better heat distribution and higher sides, since I think I'll be using it a whole lot more now.

hehe... yup, those were straight from Japan Home. ^_^v It's really a shame that J-wave has closed down since they have the matching chopsticks (with cases), lunch bags as well as bento bands for both the polka dot (Love me little, love me long!! Wahahaah!! Just had to do that...) and the Putifresh bento boxes. Had I known....

Now, what exactly is naruto? I tried searching for it on Google, but all that came up was an anime character... haha!

Naruto is actually a variant of kamaboko, or fishcake. :D It's pretty tasty. Hehe... you can read more about it here. ^_^ --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamaboko

Heya. :) Hehe... thanks for the compliments, I really appreciate them. :D

As for Japan Home Center, it's a chain of shops which are better-known as the 88-peso shop. The branches that I know of would be in ParkSquare 2 (or was it 1...? Basta yung walang derma clinics), Robinsons Malate, Waltermart Makati, and I think there's also one at The Fort. I'm sure there are more, I'm just not aware of them. ^_^;;

As for the strap (bento bands), the particular one that I used on the blue bento box is actually part of a set for another bento box that I have. I bought the strap and its matching bento box/bag at this store in Waltermart called J-Wave. Unfortunately, the shop has closed some time last year. T_T

While I'm still trying to find places that sell bento bands, I also use hair scrunchies from time to time, to keep my bento boxes in place. ^_^
