Sugar cane puzzler
I have a small length of sugar cane here right now, about two feet long, courtesy of a workmate whose family owns a small plantation... and I'm not quite sure what to do with it. So far, I'm playing with the idea of using half it in a stir-fry dish, and saving the other half and cutting it to little pieces and stick in the fridge, which we could chew on if we want something sweet...

But I've never worked with real, raw sugar cane before. Sugar, yes. As a comparison, it's like being given a live chicken when I'm trying to buy a pack of drumsticks from the grocery.

Hmm... Recipes, anyone...?

waah... not enough sugar cane for juice e, and I think extracting it requires a food processor, or something... T_T

Oh well. I think we'll just end up sucking on sugacane sticks. ^_^;;;;

Hehe. How about using a mortar and pestle for the sugar cane? XD Barbaric method but that ought to work ;)

What is J-Wave by the way? I haven't heard of it.

Oh and I am once again thinking of looking for a place to move into. Any cheap units there? :) Maybe at most, 5k a month. And would it be possible to have Smart Bro or something installed there? Thanks!

Ah! J-wave is a store that is similar to Japan Home. They used to be at the 3rd floor in Waltermart in Makati, but they closed down some time ago. :(

I got my very first batch of bento supplies from them and they sell matching bento boxes, bento bands, chopsticks with cases, bento bags and furoshiki. So the Putifresh boxes (comes in apple, grape and banana!) all actually have complete matching accessories.

As for a place to move into, I'm not really sure since we haven't really been checking around. In any case, we may move again by early next year or late this year, so I'll keep you posted if we find anything. ^_^

We find it too small. Our own fault I guess, since we have a Queen sized bed and a big closet. ^_^;; We just got too much stuff, and we need more breathing space. We're thinking about getting a one-bedroom apartment next time, or maybe another studio unit that is at least 50% larger then the one we're in, I dunno. Also, as with most second or third-class condo buildings, there seems to be more than enough of those tiny cockroaches running around than we can handle. Roaches have never been a problem in any of the places we've stayed in before, so we're certain that we're not doing anything to actually ATTRACT the critters. XD

They're just everywhere...T_T

Roaches: Can't avoid them really... They persist. Someone once told me that roaches will outlive all other species...
Well, maybe your 'neighbor' attracts them?
